GREEN CROISSANTS?!

GREEN CROISSANTS?!

I have just returned from a 2 week holiday in France, which was glorious.  I have to admit that I did drink rather a lot of red wine, albeit organic and I also ate a lot of white bread, fresh from the bakers, which was, unfortunately (to the detriment of my digestive system), a stones throw down the road!  What the hell!  I had a great time and never seemed to tire of telling people that I was not pregnant but merely fermenting.  I was certainly happier giving in than I would have been holding out.  How anyone can resist the smell of freshly baked bread in their own kitchen is completely beyond me.  My partner tried to explain that it has something to do with will-power and discipline, which, he said with a wry smile, were probably the only 2 things I didn’t take on holiday with me!

At last I am back from my hols, but discipline and will-power were not pleased to see me and it’s taken a week of coaxing to finally get back into the rich, green rhythm of life.  Replacing bread with green drinks has been torture to the palate but pleasing to the abdomen (which has taken on a much flatter appearance) and I no longer look as though my waters are about to break.  A colonic finally wiped my psychological slate clean (I really don’t want to eat bread after that epic) and I returned to my juicer lighter and brighter.  I felt motivated enough to start growing my greens again and I made friends with my amazingly tolerant juicer which will reduce anything I chuck at it to dry pulp.  I have to admit that I feel much better on green juices for breakfast than I did on coffee and croissants although they were more enjoyable.  I certainly have more energy and have been motivated enough to take pictures which will hopefully motivate you!  If you don’t have time to juice, get a good green food instead like Kiki or have left-over salad from the night before.  This is certainly more pleasurable and nutritious in the summer months than a winter warmer such as porridge!  I need to review my recipe books and find out how to make green croissants!
